Jersey Boys kicks off 2013-14 Broadway Season at Walton Arts Center

Senators Boozman and Merkley Introduce Corps of Engineers Recreation Improvement Act

U.S. Senator John Boozman today introduced legislation, cosponsored by U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR), that permits the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to reinvest recreation fees to improve facilities where the funds were collected.

First Thursday Fayetteville Returns for 2013

First Thursday Fayetteville is excited to announce expansions to the live entertainment lineup and a partnership with the Fayetteville Public Library. The 2013 season will kick off on March 7 starting at 5 p.m., on the Downtown Square, and will continue through October on the first Thursday of each month, with the exception of July.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 1, for the 20th annual Washington Regional Foundation Gala set for Tuesday, April 2, at Walton Arts Center. The Gala performer will be rhythm and blues legend Kool & the Gang. Balcony seating tickets, which include performance and reception, are $75. Cancer Support Home Offers Free Clinical Breast Exams

The No Excuses Breast Cancer Outreach Program, a service of Washington Regional Cancer Support Home, will offer free Clinical Breast Exams on Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Yvonne Richardson Center in Fayetteville, located at 240 East Rock St.

 

The examinations are offered at no cost to the public and are performed by physicians and registered nurse practitioners. Appointments are required. To schedule an appointment, please call 479-521-8024.

Wood Working Camps

Craftsman Michael Langford  will help participants learn about basic wood working tools including spokehaves and planes as well as learn how to use a hole auger.
