Feast on Chocolate For Good Cause! | Arts & Culture
Chocolate ice cream, chocolate fountains, chocolate cake, all sorts of goodies will be ready to eat at the Northwest Arkansas Mall for Le Chocolate Feast Saturday.
“Chocolate makes everybody happy," says Kerri Russell, Event Coordinator.
It's not just to soothe your sweet tooth; the more chocolate you eat the more you're helping breast cancer survivors. Behind the event, The Pink Divas, a Northwest Arkansas breast cancer support group. Money raised goes to casting for recovery, a fishing retreat for breast cancer survivors.
“You also get to go on the river there at Gaston and fish with a guide, one on one, you have a your own guide, I had a wonderful guide, caught lots of fish, and it`s just a wonderful thing for breast cancer survivor to get to take part in that,” says Delores Hanshew, Pink Divas President.
Wonderful for 14 local survivors. Although, Le Chocolate Feast may be the funnest and yummiest event, the Pink Divas raise money year round.
“We`ll help with medicine, rent, gas to get back and forth to treatment, we have an angel family every year, there`s a breast cancer involved year in that,” says Hanshew.
Besides indulging in chocolate goodness there will be fun activities for the kids.
“We also have a kids kitchen this year where each child will be able to decorate their own cookie with all the frosting and other neat things,” says Russell.
The event will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northwest Arkansas Mall.
Adult tickets are $10 and Children $5.
