Elkins Hosting Regional Water Ski Championship | Events

Cedar Creek Waterski Park in Elkins is preparing for the South Central Regional Water Ski Championships which will be held on July 27-29th.

300 Competitors of all ages will compete in slalom, trick, & jump in this final event prior to the US National Championships in West Palm Beach, Florida. On Friday the 27th of July the competition will start at 7:30 AM with the Junior Championship (age groups under 18). Some of the best junior athletes in the world will be on site including 2012 US Team member Sam Greenwood from Little Rock Arkansas. Sam recently jumped 171' in an event in Washington this past weekend. Julianna Boskus, Elkins, AR and Kat Warner, Dallas, TX will also be part of this incredibly talented pool of Junior athletes. Julianna and Kat helped the Under 13 US team win the Gold at the 2010 PAN-AM Waterski Championships.

On Saturday & Sunday competition will commence for the adult divisions and open divisions. Slalom & Trick Skiing will start at 7:30 AM on Saturday with Men’s & Women’s Distance Jumping following on Saturday afternoon. Trick skiers commonly complete multiple flips and toe turns and Jump distances exceed 150'. 2012 US 35+ team member Lori Kruger will be competing on Saturday and Sunday.
