Weather Postpones 7th Annual Family Festival Event Touch-a-Truck

The Junior League of Northwest Arkansas announces they are hosting their 7th Annual Touch-a-Truck event May 18, 2013 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers, Arkansas.  As always, this springtime family festival will be kid-friendly and full-on-fun for all ages. 

April Children’s Events at Fayetteville Public Library

The Fayetteville Public Library will host a series of public meetings to gather feedback and input on future library services and its role in the community beginning Saturday, April 6th and continuing through Thursday, April 11th. The library invites the parents and children to the following sessions:

·         Sat, April 6th – Parent’s & Small Children – Walker Community Room (FPL) – 10:00 am

Spring Break at Fayetteville Public Library

Plan your Spring Break at the Fayetteville Public Library with fun filled programs all week long. 

  

Wood Working Camps

Craftsman Michael Langford  will help participants learn about basic wood working tools including spokehaves and planes as well as learn how to use a hole auger. Participants will meet each day to the Children’s Desk. Registration starts Monday, February 25th. Sign up at the Children’s Desk or call (479) 856-7170.

Free After-School Movie Special Screening at Local Film Fest

This month, the Dig In! Food and Farming Festival will host a free After- School Special screening of “What’s on Your Plate” – a fun-filled movie about where food comes from. The film follows two eleven-year-old city kids in their quest to understand what’s on all of our plates, and how food impacts health, nutrition, the environment, and communities. It’s not just for kids--the whole family will enjoy this film.

Saturdays in February are Family Time at Fayetteville Public Library

Saturday, February 9th - Celebrate 2013 the Year of the Snake at Fayetteville Public Library

Celebrate Chinese New Year at Fayetteville Public Library on Saturday, February 9 at 10:30am. Bring the kids and learn about the holiday and enjoy games, food, and crafts to celebrate the year of the snake. This event is free and open to the public.

Free Songwriting Workshop with Texas Folk Music Staple: J Wagner at FPL

Is there a song in your heart? Then give the gift of song this Valentine’s Day with the help of the Fayetteville Public Library and songwriter and musician J Wagner. Wagner will facilitate a two-hour songwriting workshop, Tuesday, February 12 at 5:30pm in the Walker Community Room.

Winter 2013 Afterschool Workshops at Fayetteville Public Library

Winter is a great time to start a hobby or learn something new at the Fayetteville Public Library. Children in K-5th grade are encouraged to enroll for after school workshops to be held at the library starting February 4th at 4:00 pm. Register in person at the Children’s Desk or by calling (479) 856 -7170; sign-ups begins January 17th.
