The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) has issued a CODE YELLOW ALERT for TYPE O NEGATIVE BLOOD. CODE YELLOW means there is less than a two-day supply of that type of blood available for use by patients at the thirty-eight area hospitals served by CBCO donors on hospital shelves. It takes over 275 donations every day to meet the needs of the thirty-eight area hospitals that use CBCO products.
The City of Fayetteville is sponsoring two blood drives on May 4 in Fayetteville, but if you can donate now, the number for the Community Blood Center is 1-800-280-5337.
The City’s Blood drives on May 4 will be held at the following times and locations:
- 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Fayetteville Executive Airport, Drake Field, Terminal Bldg. at 4500 S. School Ave.
- 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., located on the South side of the Square across from the Town Center on Mountain Street.
A single blood donation can save the lives of up to three people. Your help is appreciated. The next City sponsored blood drives will be on Friday, July 6th at the Airport and July 18th on the Square.
